Even with the extension, I'm seeing the bar on the YT home page, the playlist and subscriptions page, but not on actual video pages. They've made it slightly less annoying - autoplay is off by default now and it no longer pops open on mouseover, although it will be open until you close it if you click a subscribed video. It's still annoying (because it? defaults to open), but not the horrid piece of shit it was at first.
