I can take them in parks? or any outdoor location and do strobist work without any studio lights. To power a studio light I'd need over a thousand bucks for the battery alone. Bigger studio flashes do require that but speed lights can pack a punch too. Always take baby steps. Master 1 speed light then add a 2nd and then a 3rd. Never buy everything at once.
