Can't say? if I agree with you, the sound is much alike, but I love LASS's flexiblity :)

I think that EWQL HS is still? the better program. Actually u spend 999? for this program and 1300? for HS and HB in a bundle so that would be the better choice

I completely agree with your comment. I still need to hear a real violin. All samples equal what kind, have all the same illness.A "windy sound" just under the sound, and in higher regions always appear some "artificial glassy" sound, which is not present in a real violin sound. To? my mind, the sharp glass sound is because of some deformation of the harmonics, all false harmonics. The only solution is to equalize the sound in the higher regions.A dip of 3-4 db can solve the problem.

no vst is the best its just different. different recording styles, available options in the vst engine, different articulations, how many mics, and different players. i personally like kontakt 5 orchestra samples and EastWest. and in my? experience, ill always have to adjust the sound to get it the way that i want. ultimately its up to you and how you use it that makes it the best for you.

Man can you tell me how you program? it.I don't have a sustain pedal
By: malevolentmistake. on 21 Feb 12, 00:25:46
exactly! you can make a "digital" signal sound "warm" without audio processing. the only people i've known to complain, really, are the people who can't mix good and think they need bigger, better, more analog, more digital, ect. i mean i know i am not at the level of mixing that i want to be, nor do i brag on what level i am at, but i DO know that the ratio of mixing skills versus equipment favors mixing skills over equipment by a long shot. Just? my Opinion. lol :)

i guess you are crazy? boy. lol somebody should go back to 3rd grade english class lol.

I agree on most, can you name those two products? im looking for some real? (most realistic possible at least) sounding strings on a vst.
By: Swidhelm. on 06 Feb 12, 07:29:04
By the looks of the? screen behind Kontakt there, I'd say Sonar. Probably 8.
By: SoAandFriends. on 02 Feb 12, 15:09:00
Just ignore comments like those, where's it obvious the person has little clue what he's? talking about. Digital samples as opposed to... natural? Does he mean analog samples? Who knows? Plus, the big giveaway is always when people refer to warmth while not knowing or understanding that warmth has a specific definition in the context of audio processing.

By: juicyjuicejosh. on 08 Jan 12, 01:59:21
add a good reverb to it and it makes a world of difference..? Im surprised these actually sound very real compared to some others.. theres alot of things you do to make it rea... Imperfections.. bow noises ect.. also velocity makes a huge difference.. seriously.. It's all about the mixing.. and thanks for the demo SSFMP

It's kind of funny how uninformed psyoptica and crazyboy1984777 are. LASS sounds harsh for a reason. They left all the high frequencies in rather than pre-EQing the library. That's because you can always cut the offending frequencies OUT if you don't want them, but if you have Hollywood Strings or Kirk Hunter where those frequencies were EQed out, you can't bring them back IN if you decide you want a harsh? sound. You're stuck with warmth whether you want it or not. Flexibility, folks!
By: psyoptica. on 08 Dec 11, 10:12:32
I must be smoking crack then. I bought LASS Lite and was seriously unimpressed. The individual? instruments sounded OK but the ensemble patches sounded like they have a cold! I even found the strings built-in to Logic Pro to be preferable. Maybe it's just a limitation of the Lite version, but I think there are a better sample libraries out there. I listened to a bunch and ended up settling on Kirk Hunter. Sounds way better than LASS in my opinion.

By: lvlselect. on 05 Nov 11, 05:17:52
Im surprised that most ppl say LASS sucks due to the dryness. The developers wanted to give you raw and dry samples and assume that you? are a good engineer to add your own effects during mixdown

There's probably a wealth of information in this tutorial. But the voice is on 1 and the music is on 11 - not into riding the volume while listening so bottom line - this productions sucks - thumbs down for not giving a shit on balancing? your voice with the music.
