This is meant to be used with a distorted amp to give overdrive, beefier tones and increased sustain. From my experience with overdrive and distortion pedals, this would probably give a clean amp a? boost/sustain but it'd be more of a blues tone. A lovely blues tone, I'm cetain, but not metal. The script switch gives a vintage Phase 90 tone which is softer and smoother than Block logo Phase 90, so good for cleans. It's also good for OD too.
