Global video hits: 11835
Just doing a short demo of my Axe Fx, VHT 2/50/2 and Carvin 4x12. The Carvin is loaded with Carvin 100's. I recorded this running an SM57 into an Avalon 737SP into a Motu 8 pre and recorded with Sonar X1. Everything was run very dry as I wanted to give as close to "right off the mic" sound as I could. Thanks for watching!!

I have a Mesa rectifier head and? cab.I bought the Axe Fx Ultra for 1300.00 on ebay.I have a Mesa 50/50 power amp.I could not imagine needing anything else.I hear the mini rec. is awesome!
By: krubel54. on 21 May 12, 19:51:40
Yeah,? Avid's Eleven is $900.
By: motorhead9999. on 20 May 12, 21:55:42
True, but its a dedicated dual core processor. Your desktop/laptop is going to be running a large OS, a host program, and also doing the processing of audio through whatever VST you're doing.? Without having to run any of that stuff and instead having a dedicated light and lean OS and custom DSP chips, you get far more bang for your buck.
By: SpankyMcGrits. on 20 May 12, 16:39:32
500mhz dual-core? That is NOT more powerful? than most desktop processors. That's actually laughable for a desktop, laptop, heck even a modern smartphone.
By: ChaseTheFirst. on 20 May 12, 12:29:46
That? guitar is adorable.

Dang, the noise gate on this video's? audio is annoying
By: DavidRck. on 17 May 12, 01:04:11
so what if you dont like it, you dont have to buy it, its a fantastic simulator, if you like tube, go with tube, if you want modeling go with modeling, I love line 6, and its the cheapest? way for me to get a good tone, so vOv

man? this guy needs a hairdresser really badly
By: DJJK89. on 04 May 12, 15:31:03
My only complain is that it just simulates "real" amps and compared to those it will never, ever sound the same. Don't get me? wrong i own a modelling line6 pod and a good old tube driven marshall jvm (both great for the price) ... but for 2000 bucks i wanna have something new and good sounding not simulating engl, marshall or boogie try to sound like "axe"!
By: tenhundredkills. on 03 May 12, 22:23:25
That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. I hate my Spider and am saving up for a Mesa Mini Rectifier and matching cab. Add the Axe FX and my dream rig will be? complete.
By: markd514. on 03 May 12, 22:17:24
No, you sell the line 6, and use this, a good amp like qsc,? and a speaker cab of choice.
By: tenhundredkills. on 01 May 12, 17:40:23
Is it safe to say? I can buy a POS Line 6 Spider, slap this processor on it, and have an epic tone? I'm kinda new to the whole rackmount/pre-amp processor thing.
By: poplepo3. on 29 Apr 12, 02:52:55
switch to modelers when the technology gets a tad? better to the point that it can have good quality at sub 1000 dollars
By: poplepo3. on 29 Apr 12, 02:52:14
tube amps in something the size of a game console . its a very handy system and will work wonders in a studio , and even live, because her if you want a marshall sound , then want to change to a fender twin , then to a engl powerball , then its as easy as hitting a button . it saves people from having? to lug 20 different heads and a huge pedal board around , this is an excelent product and i dont see the point of hating on it , some day i doubt people will use tube amps anymore and they will
By: poplepo3. on 29 Apr 12, 02:50:03
to everyone hating on this product. its silly , if you will never have an open mind outside of tube amps then this is just not for? you , theres no need to rag on everyone because they like it . in reality this unit simulates tube amps id sayn 99.9 percent perfectly . sure theres a tiny issue here or there , however it would take a highly trained ear to even tell it wasnt a tube amp , plus this gives you patches with alot of different amps tones pre loaded , so this things like carrying around 30
By: coolstorybrooooooo. on 07 Apr 12, 21:49:40
And it took only 10 years to go? from Nokia brick phones to iPhones, which is more comparable to the Axe-FX from an engineering standpoint than the vacuum tube technology you've mentioned. I love a nice real amp too, but modeling technology is already pretty on point. Sounds great, reduces the size and weight of your rig, and saves a TON of time in the studio.
By: rockrenegade. on 06 Apr 12, 13:34:38
I lol'd. A good point to consider is that modelling really can take off given enough time. It took 50 years to perfect the tube? amp in the first place.
By: somebodyjones2. on 03 Apr 12, 12:52:15
and, honestly, in the end: who fucking cares? If you're playing professionally in the studio or on stage, your "tube tone" goes through whatever power amplification the studio/ live rig is pushing their PA through, so it's a bit of a moot point. The bottom line is that you can achieve GREAT tones with this device - far better than any other devices of the sort - and the main reason for having it is to have all the sounds? there at your disposal... tube amp lovers can just buy a tube amp!!!
By: somebodyjones2. on 03 Apr 12, 12:49:17
pretty sweet... and i bet that would 'protect" the? unit more... but i'm a professional guitarist. (read: fantastically fucking lazy) and i don't want to lug 2 things around!!! (it's actually SAD how true that is!) hahaha thnx, bro

wow, whenever i want to reaffirm my belief that guitarists are a complete set of douchebags, all i have to do is come to a gear vid in youtube. THIS is why i hang with bassists and drummers, despite being? a guitarist myself.
