You dinguses who think she should sue them for? "using her voice," are failing to realize that she voluntarily and intentionally left a recording of herself on their answering machine. It's now theirs to use as they please. Besides, would you really want to come forward as the twatwaffle responsible for that bewilderingly vapid screed?

If you text in? the movie, you should be beat up.

One person said, "It's not that serious. Alamo Drafthouse is just causing fake drama." Gee, I wonder who the person was that made that statement? I bet they're someone from the? Magnited States of America.

Bully for Alamo? Drafthouse!

well it applies to both people, not just one type, its a double edged argument?
By: nialljamesbuckley. on 09 Mar 12, 22:20:36
then your problem is with? the construction of the seats in the theater. sit somewhere else or sit up front if you're short
By: mavLOLs423. on 09 Mar 12, 22:12:56
because they're tall and? wouldnt block numerous people
By: nialljamesbuckley. on 09 Mar 12, 19:30:08
- i know what you mean and that's not what i said. why should a tall person go? sit in the back?
By: mavLOLs423. on 09 Mar 12, 18:30:58
you basically just said what i meant, tall people, go sit in the? back...

- What website did you get your law degree from? they're not exploiting her - she left a voicemail on THEIR machine. they are free to do? with that as they will.

i don't understand why people take their kids to non kid movies... kids making noise during a kids' movie is one thing - but leave your kids at home, get a sitter. if you can afford the friggin movie ticket you can afford a sitter. obviously you think your happiness is more important? than that of others - but what about what's best for your kid? and yes - i'm a parent. with 2 small kids i don't take with me to places where kids shouldn't be.

yeah - and people said that same silliness when? VHS came out.
By: nialljamesbuckley. on 09 Mar 12, 15:34:53
up tight? clearly you've never been to Austin, and certainly not the Alamo Drafthouse - that place rules. they don't boot you for whispering? for popcorn - they boot you for being a distraction. the staff there is great - and you can have a beer while you watch the movie. uptight my ass (i'm irish, wife is from texas - most of texas is awesome - ALL of austin is super awesome
By: nialljamesbuckley. on 09 Mar 12, 15:31:21
- yeah, i'm inclined to agree with others saying texting is worse. maybe it's because we're a bit more used to obnoxious people talking in the theater - there have always been obnoxious people - so it's easier to ignore - but a huge beam of light going straight up is a big distraction. especially when it's going? on and off every 15 seconds. I do agree with you that "because those are the rules" is enough though. his business, his rules. don't like it? don't buy a ticket.
By: nialljamesbuckley. on 09 Mar 12, 15:28:09
- texters, babies crying, people? talking and tall people. one of those is not like the other. Why should a tall person have to sit in the back just because you're short? Go sit on the front row, problem solved.
By: BloodofPatriots. on 18 Feb 12, 21:28:50
Agreed. Had two seniors sitting behind me talking through the first few minutes of the movie. I turned around and, politely, asked, "Excuse me, but do you two think you're? still at home and this is your living room?" They were shocked but shut-up after that.
By: jessaymack. on 18 Feb 12, 21:03:03
This is never the case. The person is always in front of someone. But if you want to sit in the very back corner and silently text under your jacket or something so that the light distracts nobody, you might want to consider not paying? $10 for a ticket to do that. What a waste of money. And IDGAF, If someone spent half a movie distracting me, I'd be psyched to watch them get escorted out. That's a distraction I'm more than willing to accept.
By: jessaymack. on 18 Feb 12, 20:59:34
If you got a text that someone died you would likely leave the theater anyways so you wouldn't have to worry about being kicked out. The db in front of? me scanning his facebook feed every ten minutes certainly wasn't dealing with an emergency situation. No class is disrupting an entire theater because of your petty texting, or your desire to be the show rather than watch the show.
By: mavLOLs423. on 18 Feb 12, 20:57:30
actually im not one of those texters, my phone is off while i watch a movie, i dont get bothered by texters mainly because i am more focused on the movie, the things that bother me in a movie are? babies crying, annoying kids/teens talking and tall people that dont sit in the back, texting is the least of my concerns... and learn some respect? get out of here you dont even know me
By: jessaymack. on 18 Feb 12, 20:54:55
They were probably texting while? watching this video.
By: jessaymack. on 18 Feb 12, 20:49:21
...texting and distracting everyone else during a movie is not that serious, but being kicked out of a theater for bothering the other customers is serious enough to shoot the owner? OIC. You don't know how distracting it is because you're the jerk in the theater distracting everyone!? If you're not actually paying full attention to the movie, of course you don't "get" how it's bothering the people who are. Learn some respect for the people around you.
By: jessaymack. on 18 Feb 12, 20:44:54
Why should she get her money back? She was the cause of herself getting kicked out of the theater. There need to be consequences for people being rude to others, and one of them should be to get kicked out of whatever? the establishment is without a refund. If she was really interested in the movie, she would've stopped texting and watched it. Also, when someone calls you, you can use it for whatever you want. You have no rights to a voicemail.
By: jessaymack. on 18 Feb 12, 20:36:22
What you don't understand is that it's better for a company to remove one obnoxious, rude, and disrespectful customer and have her get angry than it is to have a theater full of unhappy people being distracted? by her. More businesses need to start taking a stand by removing rude customers who upset everyone around them rather than reward them for their bad behavior. Like places that give into the customer that makes the most noise. It just gives the place a bad vibe.

It's not just teens and young adults. Talk to the guy who sat a few rows in front of me during a quiet indie movie a month ago who, halfway? through his bag of popcorn, decided that the best way to finish the bag was to tip it up and let the popcorn loudly slide down the bag into his mouth, and then shake the bag when he brought it back down. He then got mad at us for asking him to stop doing that when it was a huge distraction. He was at least 50.
