Digitech Whammy DT in 100 Seconds (Part 2)

In this section of my revisit to the Digitech Whammy DT we move on to the right side; the 'DT' or 'Drop Tune' side. This is the new part of the pedal; it allows you to shift your whole guitar signal up or down, just like detuning or putting on a capo. It even has a momentary switch.

Digitech Whammy & Line 6 M13 for Drop Tuning
Posted by: ryanleiferiksson
Video duration: 186 seconds
Global video hits: 2366
You can use the Digitech Whammy or Line 6 M13 for drop tunings. The sound quality isn't superb, but it's great for playing along with songs and a great practice tool. The tracking is a bit laggy, especially for chords. The m13's Pitch Glide tracks/sounds a bit better, but it's quirky trying to get the number perfect. For the Pitch Glide: -1.0 for 1/2 step down, -2.0 for whole step, and so forth.

Digitech Whammy DT (Drop tune) Sorry if the sounds are a little whack. I haven't used a Whammy before, so I don't really know what I'm doing :D This pedal is integral to sounding like Battles, Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine / Audioslave) and many Radiohead songs (especially Subterranean Home Sick Alien)

Hi guys I have a doubt, I can use? Digitech Whammy DT wind instrument like a saxophone or a clarinet? thanks for the anticipated response...
By: docSanchezFX. on 09 Mar 12, 04:39:45
Can't say I've used? the Harmony Man; I've had some pretty incredible results with the PS-6 though. For harmonies I prefer it over the DT.

Whats? up doc Doc, What is better for the sexiest harmonies, DT, PS6, or Digitech Harmony Man. Cheers

Well, you know; to each their own. I looove thick, multilayered lead/melody sounds. I listen to a LOT of Boston, Ratatat, and Queen (the end of "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon" is my favorite guitar sound of all time hands down.) I guess the more harmonies I can get, the closer to those sounds I can feel (but usually 2 is plenty) For a metal person I would say this pedal for certain. Like you mentioned.... so many features,? so many applications.
By: vulgarjack. on 11 Sep 11, 14:02:34
Dual leads have been just fine for me, thanks. Triple is too much for me. The DT just has so much that I could find a use for? all of it. Downtune for lower melodeath songs, use the Minor 3rd Harmony section for solos. So many ideas...
By: docSanchezFX. on 11 Sep 11, 01:36:53
Yup! This pedal does a lot. It looks pricey at first, but when you actually see all the features you'll do a double-take. As for hearing me rippin' out some dual leads... that's going to be in the up-and-coming Boss PS-6 review. I've started those reviews already. Suffice it to say that dual leads sound disappointing once you've tried TRIPLE leads! I'll have to? give the Digitech Harmony Man a review too. Haven't done too much Digitech stuff. If any (can't remember; too lazy to look)
By: vulgarjack. on 10 Sep 11, 19:49:51
Thanks for the reply! And thank? god the pedal works like I thought it would. I thought I would use this pedal as a downtuner/tremolo dive bomb pedal and use the Digitech Harmony Man for dual leads. Now I won't have to have both. I also found a footswitch online to control the settings on the DT. Love to hear a dual lead from you on the DT sometime.
By: docSanchezFX. on 10 Sep 11, 18:01:16
Well, there were just too many Harmony options to go through. But yes, it does track a guitar harmony well. Messing around with it outside the video, that's actually all I did :D LOVE the dual lead guitar sound. This? pedal delivers that for certain.
By: vulgarjack. on 10 Sep 11, 17:59:16
Too bad you couldn't spend a little longer on the Harmony section. I caught a hint of minor 3rd harmony @1:28. I wonder if it does track a guitar harmony? well, like a dual lead guitar sound. Ah well.
By: RoarCrusade. on 02 Sep 11, 10:34:33
this pedal is super expensive but super cool one of a? kind pedal.

Super Video !?
By: docSanchezFX. on 30 Jul 11, 17:23:44
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to play either original Whammy. However, in my tinkering I noticed no tracking issues (For chords, melodies, sliding around? and everything inbetween. Admittedly I didn't TRY to get it to have tracking problems, so it's not scientific). My guess is with technology advancing and with the increased price of this pedal the processing power is probably stronger and smarter.
By: mmiikkoollaaii. on 30 Jul 11, 13:05:01
have they fixed the? tracking problems from the original whammy/whamm iV?
