why? are people arguing about jay and nas,,when lil wanye is the best
By: killdsmallz. on 29 Apr 12, 16:59:09
Yea we can because i do agree he is one of the best producers ever?
By: immmmmaustin. on 29 Apr 12, 05:02:57
I'm drunk now but word, you may be right about Jay. I try to stray from crazy shit like that (the Occult) but? I feel like Jay and Satan are good pals. That being said, Kanye is a boss producer regardless. And if you agree with that, I feel like we can end this discussion in agreement.

it's cool ?

I know of Nas's fall off point after his album It was written, but he hit back at his critics and came back to realness(meaning rapping with substance continuously) with Stillmatic in 2001, and you are right about Jay Z staying relevant in mainstream, but you know the means he took to do it. And Nas may not make? as much money as Jay and Kanye but he keeps that authenticity in his music always

i get where youre coming from but you have to remember that what constitutes as real hip hop is subjective. and nas faced many critics in his time that claimed he strayed away from his roots. don't believe me? he addressed the topic in "hate me now". look, i don't really like jay, and he probably did sell his soul. but the man found a way to stay very relevant for a VERY long time? in mainstream music. nas on the other hand is doing nfl draft promos for espn.
By: killdsmallz. on 28 Apr 12, 21:53:48
And that's where you're wrong. They make music to generate to all different kinds of audiences around the world, most of Nas's work stayed true to its hip-hop roots and was to satisfy people who appreciated hip-hop for what it's supposed to be, JayZ and Kanye get more sales as a result, but when we are talking about realer and more? lyrical artists, Nas is the winner without any hesitation, he never sold out in his career

trust me, i know illmatic like the back of my hand but if we're talking albums, the trophy goes? to jay. illmatic is top 3 best albums of any genre and easily the best rap album ever. but what else has nas done that can be mentioned in the same sentence. jay has multiple good albums, though he isn't nearly as good a rapper as nas. the difference between the two? jay has better production from maybe the best producer ever: kanye west. they make better MUSIC consistently than nas has in a decade.

nigga i've listened to Reasonable Doubt since i was younger and i still listen to it every now and then, it's a great album, probably Jay-z's best work( a tie with blueprint 1 in my view), but you think that it can compare to ILLMATIC from Nas?? Hell NO!? Illmatic is rated as the Greatest Hip Hop album of ALL TIME by multiple critics, its wayy beyond Reasonable Doubt so don't give me that talk, I'm a hip-hop lover since the 90's, I KNOW MY SHIT! Take a listen to Illmatic if you haven't then reply
By: 1246pikachu. on 28 Apr 12, 17:55:38
i know that's why i said? it
By: immmmmaustin. on 28 Apr 12, 15:28:09
haha wow, dude listen to reasonable doubt and come talk to me?
By: Ricky74340. on 28 Apr 12, 11:05:14
he says that because this song is produced by Kanye West?
By: DontThinkJustDo16. on 25 Apr 12, 21:43:15
This was the last of Wayne. Anything past The Carter? 3 is pure garbage, I don't know what happened to him! If his old self met his new self, old Wayne would slap the shit out of new Wayne...oh I mean "Tunechi" smh
By: 242ICE. on 23 Apr 12, 04:08:37
I respect your list on upcoming rappers. I'm a Drake fan. His lyrics are deep. I feel as is J. Cole will be a great rapper. For me, he? brings that '90's rapper feel back.
