Haha. Tyvm for the tutorial, although I must say. Ding pop tarts anyone? The thought of seeing a squarish shape in the oven waiting for stuff? to melt just makes me hungry for some reason. Keep up the good work. Cheers

What model of Fluke multimeter is that? Also is the thermocouple custom or can I buy it for my? multimeter?

5670A5 is the correct number. It is the replacement handle listed at the end of the description of the entire All-In-One Vacuum Pickup? System. Check eBay, cheaper solutions there. You can also use an EFD style dispensing tip hooked up to a syringe. Then put a hole in the syringe (cover with finger when required) . Attach small vacuum pump to other end of the syringe.

We got an email saying that the part number we had may not be correct, trying to hunt down the? right one! The OD on the piece in the video is .028inches.

Have you just reflowed the VMeter??
By: dr4gorn. on 16 Mar 12, 20:14:49
Do you have a part# for the .0030 adapter you're using? I didn't see it in the catalog. Also it looks? like mcmaster changed the design of the pen slightly, now it's got a push button that deactivates the vacuum, instead of covering a hole.

Here's an idea for the big parts. Put a dollop of solder paste on a visible part of the big piece that won't get in the way (top of USB connector as an example). When you see the dollop melt, the whole connector ha reached temperature. Another idea is to solder the big components first. They can soak longer than? the little parts when you re-solder with the added tiny parts.

good point on refrigeration, we do that. Do you have any references discussing solder paste? getting into skin?
By: andrenegwer. on 12 Mar 12, 08:17:52
Nice, thanks for? sharing man.
By: erezra. on 12 Mar 12, 05:03:31
Please use gloves! The size of the particles makes it easy for them ti migrate into your skin. Nitril gloves provide? cheap protection. Also, you might want to buy smaller quantities and keep them refrigerated as the some of the fluxes degrade over time.
